Message: Hunting in the south is still going on by the morons who think they're untouchables and to a certain extent they are , the law enforcers are nowhere to be seen. Well done birdlife -Malta for the way you stand up to those gun-happy killers with nothing better to do. It's about time the people have been given back their environment to enjoy .IT IS THEIR RIGHT. In return the government should organize a national clay pidgeon competition with a high prize for the winner and a chance to compete internationally. This will separate the so called sportsmen from the bloodthirsty .In the meantime Birdlife Malta and all the volunteers local and foreign ,we are proud of what you're doing and thank you so much

Message: Today we brought two classes to visit the Ghadira reserve. I must thank Mr Victor Falzon for being so patient with our young learners. Mr Falzon's knowledge and dedication was evident and he provided us with very interesting information and certainly increased our awareness about natural habitats.

I recommend that teachers take the pupils in their care to these natural reserves - it is certainly a cross curricular experience.

Message: Christian, the season for hunting and trapping birds is closed.

Any shooting that you witness is illegal and should be reported to the Police.

I agree with you that in some parts of Malta, including areas in the South, illegal hunting is not properly enforced by the Police.

If the Maltese Government has the willingness to stop illegal hunting, then he must increase the A.L.E. section of the Police in a substantial manner.

Message: I cannot understand how everyone is saying that the hunting season hasn't opened and at the same time every morning I hear shotgun shots coming from the area between Bbuga and Ghaxaq. I was happy to observe a flock of birds flying around but was disgusted at the shooting towards these birds.
Where are the police? Do they ever come to the south to enforce the law or is it a free for all down here?
I would also like to ask if trapping is allowed. Thanks.

Message: Now that the spring season will be opening late, if it opens :), it is one of the best opportunity to make a good survey about turtle doves. Many people will be seeing much more turtle doves in the countryside as they would not be shot at.

It may be important data to keep for future use. Maybe this is already planned as one of the aims for the spring 2008 camp.

Good luck and well done

Message: i would like to ask mr galea pace why he is an ex hunter and now no? i am a hunter and enjoy birdwatchin as well. in september i am always in buskett with the binoculars cause i am affascinated with big birds such as buzzards kestrels etc etc. but here in malta the story is different my friend if you are a hunter you are a law breaker. if there are a few hunters that break the law than the other hunters are cruel as well.. there are law abiding hunters and law breaking hunters. so why if i observe the law i am treathed like one of the law breakers as well. all i want is go hunting in spring like it was aggreed with the eu before accesion in the eu.. i talk for my self i do not care about other birds all i see with my eyes are turtle doves and all the rest is off target.

Message: Hello I am a birdlife member.

I would like to congratulate you for all the work you are doing to safeguard birds and environment.

However can I suggest something.
Why don't you send corresponding mails to the birdlife members via email?
In this way you would safe money and also be environmental friendly.

thanks again for all the work done.
