Green schools to be awarded by BirdLife and Bank of Valletta

BirdLife Malta and Bank of Valletta, today announced that the award-winning ceremony for the schools that took part last year in Malta's biggest environmental education programme, Dinja Wahda, will be held on the 24th November. Dinja Wahda's programme for the new scholastic year will also be launched on the day.

Illegal hunting continues as more protected birds are gunned down

A shot Stone-curlew, another rare protected species, was passed on to BirdLife Malta with gunshot injuries on Monday, bringing the total number of shot protected birds received by BirdLife this autumn alone to 64.

Nature Reserves Open to the Public

BirdLife Malta today announced that Is-Simar (Xemxija) and Ghadira nature reserves will open to the public from Saturday 8th November till the end of May next year. Ghadira and Is-Simar nature reserves will be open between 10:00 and 16:00 during weekends.
