Dinja Wahda to award schools for environmental commitment

“The Blue Banner” award shall be presented to schools that have shown a long standing commitment to environmental education. This was announced by Birdlife Malta during the launch of the Dinja Wahda Education Programme for 2011 at Pembroke Primary School.

More trees, less pollution please – schoolchildren ask Dr de Marco

In an event held this morning at the Auberge d’Italie, MTA head office, the Honourable Dr De Marco, Parliamentary Secretary for the Environment, Tourism and Culture, listened to environmental concerns raised by primary schoolchildren from 12 schools in Malta and Gozo, informing them of how government is tackling, or planning to tackle, their concerns.

Children walk 11 km in celebration of spring

In an event organised by Klabb Huttaf, BirdLife Malta’s children’s club, and Dinja Wahda, 37 children and their parents today completed an 11 km family Marathon Walk from Rabat to Qrendi, raising €1075 for conservation.

Disney’s The Crimson Wing screening launches Dinja Wahda schools bird survey

In an event attended by 224 schoolchildren from 3 schools, Dinja Wahda, BirdLife Malta and Bank of Valletta’s environmental education programme, today screened Disney’s The Crimson Wing at the Eden Cinemas – the first screening of a nature documentary for primary schools in Malta and Gozo.
